Vudira Gaming has been a community that cares about its members, always reaching out to all players, and we have offered our infrastructure to players to launch a new game. Our servers have offered quality from the beginning, carefully prepared and specifically configured to offer the best performance to all players, within the technical feasibility and following the recommendations of the developers and official partners (when possible), in addition to committing to fair and transparent moderation based on properly developed and approved criteria and protocols, without bias.
Our community leaders met with several players who were very satisfied with our community and our way of working, and they presented us with an interesting proposal: to open servers for Fistful of Frags, an unconventional and not very popular game. Although the game didn't have a significant community, we accepted the request to create servers to please our community and other players looking for new experiences. For many years, it has been one of the best servers in terms of performance and quality and the best moderated, something that many players appreciate, even those outside our community.
After years of operation, the deterioration of our infrastructure is a direct result of how "Judge Uchiha" managed things. Despite holding the position of lead administrator within our community—and being a well-known figure on the Steam forums as an official moderator for the game—his time at Vudira proved catastrophic. Not only did he demonstrate a systematic negligence that left our servers in a state of total disrepair, but he also engaged in deliberate acts of internal sabotage to benefit rival communities. His disloyalty went so far that he used our platform to divert resources and attention toward other projects, acting as an erosive force from within until his inevitable and necessary expulsion. Thanks to the efforts of our platform administrator, we were able to recover the servers and restore them to their original state.
The retaliation was swift and malicious. Days after purging the disgraced former administrator, our player base vanished overnight. Our servers had been systematically ghosted. We were wiped from the public server list, forcing our community to use manual console commands just to connect to our servers
Following a high-level investigation involving Valve / Steam support team and some friends, the chilling truth emerged: our servers were flawless, yet we had been hard-coded into the Fistful of Frags 'Blocked Server' file. This file, which by Source engine standards must remain empty to respect player autonomy, was weaponized by the developers. This was no glitch; it was a targeted strike. What started as a pathetic personal vendetta by a disgruntled ex-admin was sanctioned and executed by the FoF development team. By abusing their administrative privileges to blacklist an entire community, they didn't just attack Vudira: they betrayed every player's trust.
This is not an isolated incident. Other communities have reported similar censorship and shadow-banning on social media, as the Steam forums have become a police state where any criticism is instantly scrubbed by the developers. The FoF team has spiraled into a toxic witch hunt, actively murdering their own game. The numbers don't lie: their crusade of hatred has gutted the player base from 500 active users(when we started) to a ghost town of barely 50 players.
We attempted to resolve this professionally and amicably, but our reach-outs were met with weeks of deafening silence. We refuse to be targets for developers who treat their communities like enemies. Consequently, Vudira is permanently terminating all FoF operations. We are moving our resources to games managed by professionals who respect their players, rather than ego-driven developers who would rather kill their game than share it.
As if that weren’t enough, this event emboldened the developers and their allies to kick off a trend of absurdly authoritarian behavior.
We have learned that the development team has publicly leveled very serious legal accusations against a community—specifically, an allegation of fraud based solely on the testimony of one individual, without providing any irrefutable evidence—using the game announcement system that Steam makes available to all developers.
They published two statements, one of which is directed specifically at this community and contains defamatory remarks; you can view it by clicking here. Since when does a video game developer make—or permit—such grave accusations against players who invest their own time and money into promoting the game and bringing in their friends?
Does this happen in all communities? Well, no. If you're friends with the developer or the game team, they let you get away with absolutely anything. And when we make these kinds of claims, it's because we can prove it. A community run by a character called "roni" (whom we know because he was also an administrator of our servers and whom we also ended up expelling for his discrimination based on religious, ideological, and ethnic grounds) was reported by a player from Israel. He reported that he and his friends were expelled simply for being jewish, and from there, some comments arose that we won't go into detail about. What surprises us most is the lukewarm response and the weak, half-hearted justification for not taking action. Is what some communities do wrong, but for others, it's perfectly fine? There are rules on the Steam forums that must be followed, and in this case, two:
- Violate others’ personal rights: Examples of such prohibited behavior include: doxing; scamming; stealing; impersonating; stalking; accessing other users’ Steam accounts; and posting libelous or defamatory statements.
- Harassing other users or Steam personnel: Examples of such prohibited behavior include: trolling; baiting; threatening; spamming; intimidating; and using abusive language or insults.
A good moderator would have said that political and religious opinions are not welcome in this forum, that these issues should be discussed politely and respectfully elsewhere, and that personal matters should certainly be left aside in a game because the purpose is to have fun and relax. Instead, you give a warning and close the thread, but they chose to give credence to the harassment and discrimination.
This type of action confirms the failure of a very good and fun game idea, serving to satisfy the imperative need for power of mediocre characters who behave like dictators and are only looking for a false way to give meaning to their empty lives, while expelling those who only seek peace, fun, and camaraderie.
The game is currently immersed in an unprecedented war between a community that controls the game in its own way and according to its own rules (most of which are unfair and a sign of latent corruption and favoritism), where you are either with them or against them, and on the other hand, another community that has grown fed up with its rulers for many reasons that we know of. And the other players who don't give a damn about this matter move on to other games to find a less hostile environment. We warned at the time and unfortunately, it is happening.
